Katherine Heigl reveals that she was brought up in a bubble of white and how this realization affected how she cared for her adoptive, multiracial kids. Katherine Heigl, the "Firefly Lane" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" star shared in a recent interview that she was told that when it came to the color of her skin, she didn't care the way she looked when she was younger, but once she talked about her sister's age, whom she taken in by South Korea, she realized how differently society viewed the two of them. "I wanted to know Meg what she thought about being different when she went out with our parents and the times she was out by herself. She answered, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl talked to parents about how she realized her ignorance. Heigl said she got frustrated and thought she needed to channel her anger towards helping her adopted daughters. Heigl shares a son of four year with Josh Kelley, her husband for the past 13 years. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea at the age of 12 in 2009. followed by Adalaide who was 8 years older and was Black as of 2012.
